United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA) and the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham (CFGB) are pleased to announce the release of a jointly issued Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunity to further their respective goals around improving community health, coordinating existing resources for strategic impact, and demonstrating successful alignment of their organizational missions.
BUILDING STRONGER SYSTEMS TO MEET CHILD NUTRITION NEEDS: UWCA and CFGB will consider grants for collaborative projects that expand the capacity, coordination, and availability of federally reimbursable summer and afterschool food programs for children. Funding will support partners as they add or expand feeding sites, improve nutritional quality and variety of meals served, incorporate support and education for families, and leverage federal resources like the Summer Food Service Program and the Child and Adult Care Feeding Program.
